A touchpad is a fundamental unit of the laptops. It is developed to perform the role of the mouse. People sometimes prefer disabling this feature when using the inbuilt keyboard. There are many people who want to disable the touchpad but are not aware of the process. Lenovo Laptop Technical Support has provided this article to supply the method of disabling this feature on ThinkPad series of laptops.
Follow these instructions and disable the touchpad-
The first thing you need to do is to click on the Start Button.
Move the cursor to the Search box and type Mouse
You will then have to select either Mouse or Mouse Properties from the search results.
Click on the tab "UltraNav" or ThinkPad from the mouse properties.
You will then see an option named "Device Settings" if you are using the updated version of touchpad driver; click on it to move further.
Now, uncheck the "Enable Touchpad" option and open the drop-down menu to select "Use Trackpad Only".
Update the Trackpad drivers
There are chances that you do not find the option of "Device Settings" when you are using the outdated version of Trackpad driver. You will be required to download it from the Lenovo Product Support. Visit the official website and enter into the section "Drivers and Support". Choose your product model from the list and install the available drivers.
